1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference website with no government affiliation. It does not keep official criminal records, submit filings, retrieve records for visitors, or conduct official background checks.

Its role is to identify the custodians of Jefferson County records, including the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Wisconsin Circuit Court, Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau, and Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. Public access remains subject to the Wisconsin Public Records Law, Wis. Stat. § 19.35, while state criminal-history collection and reporting are governed in part by Wis. Stat. § 165.83. Some pages also connect to outside tools that may assist personal research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
• Stalk, threaten, or harass anyone with information found here
• Attempt unauthorized access to any website system
• Use site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions
• Disrupt access, impair performance, or interfere with other visitors
• Violate a federal, Wisconsin, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Site content and linked-tool results may not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against another person. Such conduct is forbidden and may be criminal. Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry information is provided for public-safety awareness under Wis. Stat. § 301.46. It does not authorize vigilantism, unlawful discrimination, or retaliation against a listed person or anyone at a listed location.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Jefferson County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Its advertising partners do not offer tools intended for applicant screening, rental review, insurance rating, or credit judgments through this website. You must not use site content or linked results to:

• Set insurance premiums or assess creditworthiness
• Make a hiring or termination decision
• Screen a rental or housing applicant
• Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or government program
• Carry out any other purpose regulated by the FCRA

A check needed for a regulated purpose must be obtained through the Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Information Bureau or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is not legal advice. General explanations about Jefferson County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or Wisconsin expungement rule applies to a particular person. A licensed Wisconsin attorney can provide advice about an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are offered "as is." We make no promise that:
